‘The Mystery’, or Wavertree Playground, opened in 1895 as one of the first purpose-built public playgrounds anywhere in the UK, and the octagonal Wavertree Lock-up (the Roundhouse), a listed building dating from 1796, still stands as a local curiosity. The area also sits right by Smithdown Road's lively university-student community, which shapes a lot of the moves we do here.
Wavertree is densely populated and diverse, with a notable student population thanks to the nearby universities. That means a lot of our work here is shared houses and HMOs on tight turnaround, often around end-of-tenancy dates, plus first-time movers furnishing a home from scratch. We regularly help with a collection from The Range on Edge Lane, a new bed from Dreams on Edge Lane, or DIY bits from B&Q on Edge Lane. For students on a tighter budget, there's our Van & Driver service at £40 an hour with a 2-hour minimum, where you do the loading and we do the driving.
