Incorporated into Liverpool in 1913, Woolton has one of the strongest musical histories anywhere in the city. John Lennon grew up at Mendips, 251 Menlove Avenue, now owned by the National Trust and open for tours, while Strawberry Field, the former Salvation Army children's home nearby, inspired ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’. Just along the road, St Peter's Church is where John Lennon and Paul McCartney are generally believed to have first met, at a church fête on 6 July 1957.
Away from the Beatles trail, Woolton's housing is mainly detached and semi-detached family homes, with pockets of historic terraces in Victorian Woolton Village, home to its old public baths, pubs and churches. That mix means our removals teams plan for everything from spacious family houses with driveways to tighter village-centre terraces where we plan access in advance.
