This week we did a man and van move from Aigburth to Manchester, a one-man job taking a customer’s belongings from Aigburth (L17) in south Liverpool over to Crumpsall in North Manchester. If you need something similar, our man and van service covers moves just like this one.
Man and van in Aigburth: loading up
Pick-up was from a big Victorian building in Aigburth, the kind of property this part of Liverpool is known for. We parked the Luton van right outside, dropped the tail lift and got loading. We do plenty of removals in Aigburth, so we know the area and its parking well.
Autumn moves: protecting the stairs
It’s properly autumn now, with wet leaves, mud and rain, and that all gets walked into a house on moving day. So before carrying anything up or down, we laid our blue protection mats along the stairs. Every trip in and out goes over the mats, not the carpet, so the stairs stay clean and the customer doesn’t have a mucky mess to sort out afterwards.
Liverpool to Crumpsall, Manchester
Once everything was loaded and secured, it was down the motorway to Crumpsall. We unloaded, carried everything in and placed it where the customer wanted it.
How long did it take and what did it cost?
From arrival in Aigburth to finishing in Manchester, the whole job took 3 hours 30 minutes. Our clock starts when we arrive and stops when the job is done. Here’s the stopwatch at the end of the move:
As a 1 man and van job at our hourly rate, the move cost the customer £175 in total. If you’re moving a smaller home or just a few bits, one man and a van is often all you need. You can see more examples in our recent removals, like this flat move in Toxteth.
