Today (Tuesday 29th September) we carried out a man and van Toxteth job, helping a customer move from one flat to another. It was a one-man job with our Luton van, and the whole move took around three hours from arrival to the last box going in.
If you have a small or medium move like this coming up, our man and van service in Liverpool is built for exactly this kind of job.
Man and Van Toxteth: Moving Among Victorian Terraces
Liverpool 8 is full of grand old Victorian terraces, and this one sat in sight of the Princes Road Synagogue and the spire of the old Welsh church. Beautiful buildings, but flats in them usually mean steps up to the front door, tall hallways and stairs inside.
We ran a folding aluminium ramp over the front steps and straight onto the van’s tail lift, so boxes and furniture could be wheeled on safely instead of being carried down step by step.
Loading the Van: Boxes, Blankets and Straps
Most of this move was boxes, so the job was all about stacking them properly. Heavier boxes went on the bottom, lighter ones on top, built into tight columns against the bulkhead so nothing could slide around on the way.
Removal blankets were on hand for anything that needed protecting, and the straps along the van walls kept the load secure for the journey across town.
Flat-to-Flat Moves in Liverpool 8
Toxteth sits just south of the city centre, so parking and access can take a bit of planning. A one-man man and van works well for flat moves where the customer has packed in advance and the load is mostly boxes plus a few bits of furniture. For bigger flats or heavy items, we can send a two-man team instead.
We cover L8 and the rest of Liverpool, including house removals in Liverpool city centre. You can see every area we work in on our areas we cover page.
