Prescot is a historic market town with an identity of its own, separate from Liverpool. It was a centre of watch- and clock-making through the 18th and 19th centuries, a heritage Prescot Museum tells the story of today, and the town is now home to the Shakespeare North Playhouse, which opened in 2022 and takes its design inspiration from the town's own Elizabethan-era Prescot Playhouse.
The housing reflects this too. A historic core of older streets near the centre sits alongside newer suburban and estate development on the outskirts. We treat the two differently: careful planning for tighter, older streets close to the town centre, and straightforward van access for the more modern estate roads further out.
